Pardubice Fuji X10 from James Spencer on Vimeo.

Went for a stroll around Pardubice town after the snow had stopped falling. This place is beautiful in the snow, and when it’s dry too. I started off by heading over to the lake across from our apartment. Half of it was frozen over but the swans and ducks seemed quite content. I must bring bread over for them next time as that’s twice now i’ve gotten them all excited, only to realise I have no food for them. From there I ventured over towards the Chateau, where unfortunately the peacocks were in hiding under an archway. There’s a lovely pathway then into the old town and onwards to the square, one of the prettiest squares I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. I finished up down near the Chateau again and then walked back home with my battery all but exhausted. A most lovely walk indeed.
Except for my stupid socks wanting to roll back down into my boots and off my feet, causing me to stop every few minutes to pull them back up. I’m sure the people walking behind me were most bemused.
Shot on a Fuji X10.

Music is Reflections by Robert Costlow, found on Jamendo.com. The man has some really nice piano music.

It’s a funny time we live in. Instead of calling each other, we text. Instead of asking what our friends are up to, we check twitter. Instead of grabbing coffee, we Facebook message. While technology interfaces for us, and our virtual lives overtake our analog existence, the ironically titled social media encourages isolation over real interpersonal communication. One social media outlet seems to contradict this notion, however.

Welcome to an Instagram Generation.

This is my school project of year two Broadcast Media at LASALLE College of the Arts at Singapore. This term topic is documentary. Luckily my friend Andy Nguyen helped me a chance to meet and know Billy Mork and makes this project happen.

Billy Mork started doing darkroom analog film printing long time ago, since we was a teenager. He stopped for a while when the war of megapixels from digital cameras happening. He changed his occupy to art director, architecture,… but finally he goes back to black and white film printing. This documentary not only showing the technique of darkroom film printing, how careful and precise the darkroom person must be, but also sharing personal experience and feeling of Billy about his passion, his opinion about his passion. It’s “the Art of Analog Film Printing”.
